Consider three approaches to deal with nail hardwood flooring (eg, 13/16 "strip oak):

1st Hand-mouth. Drill a small pilot hole, so the nails do not bend. It is a slow, tedious, and prone to damage the floor if (when), the hammer misses, or if you have to pull a bent nail. Nails will not hold, and Porta-Nails, and you can hurt your hands / fingers when the hammer misses the nail, which, when countersinking the nail head. However, this approachdoes not require expensive tools.

2nd Pneumatic master. For example, 15 gage finishing foreman with 2 "steel nails This is the easiest way. In all you do is pull the trigger. You need a strong master of both, or nail head, may need to manually countersunk with a nail set. Therefore, the SIT on the floor, the master, with the bottom of the foot on each side of the master to stabilize it, hold the hammer with both hands, and gently hit the drive-head master of the [heavy]Porta-Nails hammer. Use a good whack, but not so hard you try to run it with this blow, then give it a second whack of the countersink the nail (if you're hit hard enough). You with both hands on the controls. Your most powerful hammer blow could drive nails with the first whack, but it provides less control over the hammer and thus more likely to stop your feet when you miss. If you really trust an assistant to miss that person could drive the hammerblows. If you hold the instrument with one hand while leaning over or kneeling, and whack the head with a hammer to drive, which took place on the other hand, you better hope the nail countersinks for this blow.

Using three approaches, this manual facial master works well. Except barbed nails that really grab the main reason to use this tool is the hammer blow at the same time tighten the board to sub-floor when running the floor nails / cleats. Other methods do not constrictboard for the sub-word identical, and do not hold nails as well.

Porta-Nails sells conversion kits for the master in the face of the cleats master. Operating, but it takes time to perform the conversion. If you only occasionally need to master in the face that is a good approach, but if you're doing something a lot of work, you will waste a lot of time with this approach.

You might also consider a tool that is necessary hammer blow (to reinforce panels) and air tocountersink the nail in one whack. However, these nailers cost much more than this manual tool.

I have not actually used the nails yet, so watch for my negative review later this year, the 2008th If you do not see one, chances are good staples also worked on the IPE (brazillian Walnut, solid floor avaiable) that I intend to install.

I rented Bostitch MIIIFS for the weekend to install hardwood floors and realized that it was going to take me a little more time to complete the job.

After shopping around I found Hardcore Tools AIR hardwood floor master stapler. At one third the price and buy Bostitch less than the cost to continue to hire, I will purchase.

Hardcore stapler has a lower profile at the back and forward, which allows you to use the second row and the wallIn the third line of Bostitch, with our 3 ¼ "plate. Hardcore stapler also lighter, reducing the fatigue of these part-time-do-it-herself. The quality is good and there are even my amateurish handling. This unit came with a large storage case, oil , stand to the base, and the goggles make a nice bundle.

The only downside to this tool is that as compassionate as the Bostitch to placement on the deck, so I found myself having to adjust their positions to avoidmisstapling.

Overall, I'm happy with my purchase and would recommend this stapler with daily home remodeler.

Niklas sales tax floor stapler is a very well made tool.

I like:
Staple Loading is easy, intuitive, and fast.
-It drives staples perfectly.
-Air connector is angled a bit, nice touch.
-Fit and finish are very good.

Needs work:
-There are only a small booklet included. It's not the owners manual, just kind of exploded diagram of parts. No instructions for use, preferably staples, no instructions on the proper adjustment of the baseNothing for the first time user.

-There is no visible indicator of how many staples are left. You either have to open it up and look, or hope that you will notice that you are no longer shooting staples.
-I found that the safety lever, a little spring loaded metal tongue that detects if the tool is positioned correctly, it is not always completely suppressed when the tool is lined up, resulting in much wasted time fiddling with the angle or readjusting the base plate to make the attemptit is happy.

I was using the floor near the maximum thickness of the tool. Perhaps if they included some guidance on the correction, I would have better luck. It just seems to handle the security file should have its own micro-adjustment tool to fire more consistently, or at least some of the printed advice on an optimal basis to the plate to the fire more consistently.

Indeed, two cents worth of printed paper actually reduce the level of frustration with this otherwisenearly perfect tool. I can not believe they actually sent this tool, without the owners manual.
